Dear Brothers and Sisters,
National Context: As Taiwan is getting tenser: (1) COVID19 has arrived last week: classes are now online (2) China is threatening with many planes entering Taiwan airspace (3) water shortage due to lack of rain (4) rotating electrical power blackouts. From my perspective, these are shaking up the self-confidence and pride of the Taiwanese. Pray that these circumstances (1) wake up sleeping Christians and (2) draw many to know Jesus for the first time.
Praise/Prayer for university classes: Context: In the last few semesters, God has opened the door for us to have a course at Yuan Ze University introducing the teaching of Moses, Socrates and Jesus to students who have never heard of these names. This course is delivered using lectures, movies, small group discussions, and the study of original documents (e.g. Genesis, Gospel of Luke). We require 1 co-worker for 7 students. Previously I was allowed to limit enrolment to 24 students but this school year the school insisted on us accepting up to 50 students each semester. From where would the workers come? There were only 2 of us: David a professor in Computer Science and myself in Electrical Engineering. Hudson Taylor said: "God's work done in God's way does not lack God's support." Jesus said: "Pray to the LORD of the harvest." God provided just in time the exact number of additional facilitators without us seeking co-workers:
This spring semester, 2 co-workers did not wish or could not continue and students selecting the course also dropped proportionately to around 26 students for the remaining 5 facilitators. God be praised! In one-to-one conversations, I am excited that the students seem much more open to the gospel this semester as the Holy Spirit words with his life. . Please pray for us that God may use us as the Holy Spirit works in students' hearts. As we plant the seed, we really do not know when it will sprout. But when God works, Satan is not sleeping. First, we had a minor conflict between myself and Steven: now resolved. Please pray for each of the facilitators:
