Students are required to prepare a letter of introduction to demonstrate that they have learned the skills of cluster diagramming and informal letter writing.

  1. Introduce a classmate to a friend. Situation: Your classmate will visit Chicago this summer. Your friend is studying in 2nd year EE.
  2. Welcome a foreigner to your university. Situation: You are in first year Engineering. The global affairs office has asked you to write a letter to welcome a prospective new student (from America) to our university.
  3. Introduce yourself and request help. Situation:You have just received notification that your application to summer school at University of California (Berkley) has been accepted. Your girlfriend's elder brother is studying there for a master's degree
